James Barber has been practicing exclusively in the area of estate, trust, and guardianship litigation issues since he was called to the bar in 2000. He articled with one of Canada’s premiere estate litigation law firms and practiced there for two years before joining Mecid Associates LLP in the summer of 2010.
James has extensive experience in legal research and writing. He has blogged extensively on estate litigation issues and assisted the learned authors of the celebrated text Probate Practice in preparing the new 5th edition of that work. Previous editions have been relied upon by Courts at all levels, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
James excels in explaining complex legal issues in clear, simple terms that make sense to Courts and to clients. This makes James effective at helping clients to navigate their way through complicated problems to sensible solutions.
